I have been feeling increasingly influenced by curiosity and a desire to dig deeper into the work that I am making - the why, the how, the choice in materials and process, the meaning and purpose and intent. In that pursuit I have decided to take a little journey to focus and grow and develop the ideas I have been thinking on for the past few years. This will be taking me out of New Orleans for a sabbatical of sorts to a little cabin in the North Carolina mountains to quiet the distractions and get to work; unlike the movement of my summer trips, this will be more focused on creating a collection of paintings, and the Threads piece I've been slowly working on all these years. New Orleans is still home, but I'm going to be moving out of my current space while I'm in NC and paintings shouldn't be stored (as many of mine are), they should be seen.

So that means I'm having a huge studio SALE! i hoped to have it all ready on line today but I'm so focused on finishing pieces for upcoming shows including the Covington Three Rivers Market Nov 11-12, and the Arts Council Arts Holiday Markets coming up at the end of the month and a couple commissions due. So the OPEN STUDIO will be December 11, 4-9PM, mark your calendars - I'll send out another Full Moon email just before with more pieces to preview.

Legs and Home, oil on panel, 48x24" painted in 2011, an explosion of thoughts and feelings - mainly wanting to know that I was standing on my own two legs, as crazy as the world felt around me, or as insecure as I felt in life, I was finding my ground, home in myself.
